What they are?

What the Parchi Letterari are?

I Parchi Letterari® ( Literary Parks) are portion of territories each characterized by combinations of natural and human factors revealed through literature together with the evolution of local communities.

The locations themselves maintain the power to communicate sensations that inspired the work of a number of authors and the mission of I Parchi Letterari® is to revive the same sensations into the visitor by remembering the authors and their body of work connected to the locations, as well as encouraging inspiration and creativity through the discovery of the natural environment and the history and the traditions of those who live there.

Literature and poetry are often related to real locations and consequently linked to the life and cultural affinities of an artist; connecting to it offers an original method of interpreting the space in a balanced combination of landscape, cultural heritage and economic activities.

The settings of novels, short stories, legends or poems – should they be buildings, ruins, historic centers, countryside or suburbs – are a specific heritage, a testimony to be protected, conserved and promoted, of the natural, historical and cultural values of the local communities.

I Parchi Letterari® ( Literary Parks) assume the role of literary protection of places made immortal by famous verses and descriptions that risk of being erased and which translate into the choice of itineraries, traced through territories marked by the authors’ physical or interpretive presence. An extraordinary path that makes the visitor re-experience the suggestions and emotions that the writer has experienced and that he has impressed on his works (Stanislao Nievo).

The reader thus has a reading key that stimulates the visit of places otherwise considered only for their panorama: a journey of the inspiration made real and current by the encounter with living characters who introduce to a tale inseparable from the place that hosts them.

Understanding the power of literature has in bringing the reader closer to the location described by an author is certainly a crucial first step towards the reader involvement and participation in the protection of that environment.

I Parchi Letterari® ( Literary Parks) do not aim just to preserving and promoting literature through locations, but they claim to safeguarding those locations through literature
